Ryan Brown, Team Corral, vs. Josh Blanco, Carlson Gracie, kicked off the evening. Brown came out of his corner ready to throw sending a flurry of punches Blanco’s way that motivated him to clinch and go immediately for the takedown. Brown pulled guard quickly before hitting the mat and transitioned into a tight triangle choke. Blanco gave it his best to escape, and sucked up the choke for nearly two minutes before tapping to Brown in the first round. Milan Milutinovic vs. Miguel Perez was a great match-up both fighters showed a great technical ability – both offensively and defensively. Milutinovic showed skill with both his hands and jiu-jitsu using an ooma plata to take Perez’s back. Perez showed excellent defense and avoided submissions with Milutinovic dug in on his back for the entire round. Perez kept his cool and didn’t let the first round take him out of his element-he finished Milutinovic in the second round by standing guillotine choke. Yusup Saaduliev, Uflacker Academy, vs. Lloyd Carter, Team Colon continued the action of the evening. Yusup and Lloyd started the fight on their feet-trading blows at a fast pace. In Round Two Lloyd landed some excellent, crisp shots that effectively opened up Yusups nose quickly became a bloody mess. Yusup made friends with the punch and kept his cool and closed this distance resulting in an explosive Takedown that left the crowd cheering. Yusup quickly transitioned to the back and sunk in a choke-Lloyd rolled and there was a flurry of movement but Yusup maintained control of the position and sunk in a tight Rear Naked Choke that left Lloyd with no other option that to tap. Chris “The Exorcist” Price – a veteran of the UFC and Aung La Nsang, fighting out of Crazy 88, was a great match-up for the Light Heavyweights. Both fighters have a lot of experience and technical ability. Price, the favorite of the night in the scheduled bout, ended up in Nsangs guard after a quick takedown. Nsang swept Price; Price reversed the position to end up topside dominant position. During the last reversal Nsang sunk in a quick Guillotine Choke that ended in a tap by price and an upset of the Match outcome by Nsang. Deray Davis vs. Quinton McCottrell was the Co-Main Event of the night and neither fighter made any effort to hide the hatred that seethed between them. Davis started the fight with an intense stare down and a few choice words for McCottrell. Davis landed a high quick which Quinton used to score a takedown. Both fighters traded blows and the fight continued on to Round Two. Quinton went for another takedown, this time Davis sprawled and pushed the action with a takedown of his own. He executed a high slam that the crowd loved. Round Three put both fighters conditioning to the test, Deray had been steadily landing jabs-Quinton’s nose appeared to be broken and with every breath he was spewing a haze of blood. The bout went to Judges Decision and Davis held onto his Welterweight Champion Title with a Majority Decision. The Main Event of the Evening featured Jared “The Spider” McMahan walking out to live Bagpipes and Drums and Antonio “The Aztec God of War” Canas walking out to the music of a Live Rapper. Through the theatrics of their entrance, both fighters stayed dialed in and readily met in the center of the stage for Rules and the Stare-Down. Both fighters, accomplished stand-up fighters traded blows off and on throughout the first round and Canas landed some impressive leg kicks that left McMahan’s legs red after the first round. Round Two brought on a Guillotine attempt by McMahan that Canas was able to withstand and then eventually break free of. McMahan’s conditioning held true and he pushed the tempo of the bout and in a flurry of punches landed a left that made Canas buckle to the ring. Canas, an experienced fighter was able to effectively defend and the bell carried him into Round Three. Both fighters came out swinging in Round Three and Canas landed more of those solid leg kicks that had the crowd cringing – you could hear the crack at each impact. McMahan worked his guard and hunted submissions but Canas evaded the attempts, escaped to his knees and scored a takedown of his own. Another flurry commenced that ended in McMahan taking the back of Canas who defended the choke until the Third Round bell signaled the end of the bout. The Judges Decision resulted in a Unanimous decision that declared Jared “The Spider” McMahan victor. Results: Ryan Brown winner by Submission-Triangle Choke against Josh Blanco
