Montebello, Ca - Not wanting to disappoint his fans Jose Hernandez would once again provide an action packed main event Friday night at the Quiet Cannon by dominating COF veteran Ron Lebreton for three rounds.
During the fight Hernandez (6-5) would use his takedowns and the top position to overwhelm Lebreton (5-3); every time Lebreton would attempt to punch Hernandez would just change levels and shoot in to score a takedown. On the ground Hernandez would keep Lebreton on his back and stay active with submission attempts and punches, in the end as the bell would sound the judges would award Hernandez the unanimous decision.
In the co main event Joe Bryant fighting out of GO’s Brooklyn Boxing club would submit Barbell Club fighter James Johnson via a choke that night.
From the start of the fight Bryant would push the pace by setting up the takedowns with his strikes. Once on the mat he would dominate Johnson from within the top position, Johnson could only scramble to guard most of the time and offer little offense to Bryant’s attack. As the fight would wear on Bryant would continue to push the pace as he would use the mount position and strikes to force his opponent to turn to his belly before locking up a rear naked choke that would force him to tap late in round two.
In the only women’s fight of the night Shoni Esquiro would use the top position effectively to catch her opponent Team Braga fighter Brady Nerney in a key lock submission in less then one round of action.
Starting off slow Esquiro (0-1) would seem to be timid on the feet as Nerney (1-1) would push the pace early on in the round. That would change however as soon as Esquiro would initiate the clinch and take Nerney down. Using a headlock style hold she would eventually put Nerney on her back and lock up a shoulder lock attack that would force Nerney to tap.
In featherweight action Millennia team member Greg Dalton (7-2) would KO Braga team fighter Sergio Silva (7-1) in less then two rounds of action.
During the fight both fighter would start off slow as both would try and find their range with their hands. As the fight would wear on though it would be Dalton who would find his range first and land a viscous combination that would KO the Brazilian native.
In a blitzkrieg style attack Cleber Jiu-jitsu blue belt Vince Alaalatoa (2-1) would use his ground game to overwhelm and submit West Coast Fight Academy fighter Frank Pizzirelli (0-1) via rear naked choke.
Using his jujitsu skills Riverside Submission Academy fighter Joey Bedolla (0-1) would submit his opponent Hitman fight team member Thomas Casarez (2-2) via arm bar in less then two rounds of action.
