12.02.07 Podcast #95 The Blackbelt Training Network of BJJ
Author: Fightworks Podcast
Does it sometimes feel like Brazilian jiu-jitsu is being tugged in different directions by those with an interest in how it develops? Various stakeholders from different lineages of BJJ, to tournament promoters, to marketers all have an idea of what the sport should be, and it is not always the same thing.
This week on The FightWorks Podcast we will speak with Anthony Delvalle, who is heading an effort to bring together the true caretakers of the sport, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts, together in an open forum to train together, to discuss the future of the martial art, and to forge relationships which go beyond the commercial influences which in worst-case scenarios may undermine the integrity of the sport.
This endeavor is called the Black Belt Training Network, and Delvalle will tell us all about its goals, how the first meeting went, and how he foresees the association in the future.
