Coming to you from Carson, California and the United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s annual Pan-Am tournament, we’ve got interviews with the Atlanta-based Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, who leads the BJJ powerhouse team Alliance, and Rickson Gracie’s son Kron. Each will discuss their respective experiences yesterday at the tournament, which ends today with male and female competitors from the brown and black belt divisions.
The main portion of our show belongs to an interview with strength and conditioning coach and author Martin Rooney. Rooney just released his new book Training for Warriors: The Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts Workout, which provides tons of great details on what a BJJ practitioner can do to improve their cardio, strength, and mental game in combat sports participation. Rooney is a regular contributor to Gracie Magazine, so he definitely knows what it takes to get BJJ folks prepared!
