    Hey guys!

I know I'm a little late but here is the vid of one of my fights from this year's Pan's! I had a strange but overall good experience at Pan's this year. Once again I lost over 20 pounds in a month to fight at lightweight and I think I made the weight cut better this time than I ever have in the past. My fight in my division was against Thiago Abreu from Checkmat and it ended up being a disappointment because although I felt like I was controlling the fight the whole time at about 6:00 in I was DQ'ed for "sralling", which was a more than questionable call by the ref that led to many complaints and much outrage and not just from me. In reality what made me the most bummed was that I was so well trained and ready to go and didn't even get to fight one whole fight. But then I was reminded by my training partner Rafael Eboli that black belt adults don't have to medal to sign up for the open and I went down and put my name in right away, a move that saved the whole experience for me. I won my first fight in the open (video above) against tough as nails Caio Almeida, and then went on to fight Lucas Lepri in my second match. This is what really made the experience for me. I go to big events like the Pan to get the chance to fight the best of the best in my division as much as anything else so I was really excited to fight against the multiple time lightweight world champion. I felt good in the match and was actually winning by an advantage up until he swept me around 6 or 7 minutes into the fight. Then upon making a mistake in my guard he was able to get to my back and after resisting for about a minute in his choke I eventually was forced to tap. Was an awesome experience and I came out of it with more confidence than ever and have already felt my game improve since then, now I'm ready for the American Cup this coming weekend!!

Hey guys! This past weekend I made a last minute trip out to the 9th Arizona International Open to fight again Ex-UFC Champion Benson Henderson! I wanted to get some fights in before the Pan's and seeing as I missed the SF Open I jumped on the chance to travel out to Arizona and fight against Benson! I had two fights, winning the first by 15-0 (video above) and then losing to Benson in the final by 3-2 on advantages (video in previous post). Benson is an awesome fighter and humble competitor and it was a great experience to fight against him in preparation for the upcoming Pan's! Knocked off some of the competition cobwebs and was reminded of a couple things to correct before the big tournament in a couple weeks! Check out the video of my first fight above!! Osssssssss

    Hey guys!!

Back in November I was given the honor of fighting in the Black Belt Grand Prix at Renzo Gracie’s World Jiu-Jitsu Expo. I had five matches and ended up making it all the way to the semi-finals, making for probably the best performance of my first year at black belt. I had two submissions, one win on points, one loss to Jackson Sousa by 3-3 on points and 2-1 on advantages and then unfortunately I lost the semi-final to a really tough and humble competitor in James Puopolo by 4-0. Above is the video of my fourth fight from the event which was against Marcel Goncalvez (be sure to switch the quality to at least 480p in the youtube window) Osssssssssssss
