Amateur MMA takes another leap forward in California. ALFA (Amateur League Fight Alliance) will hold its inaugural event on April 16th at the Palm Springs Convention Center. ALFA League will consist of regional amateur MMA events concluding with final events in late 2011 to crown champions in several weight classes.
Under the supervision of CAMO the California sanctioning body for Amateur MMA, and California State Athletic Commission ALFA events will provide amateur MMA fighters a consistent, safe environment to challenge themselves against fighters from other California MMA gyms. The league format will give amateur MMA fighters a chance to test themselves against top competition from other regions and represent their training facilities.
