    Alliance BJJ Camp

    From Jacare:

We would like to invite you to attend the 2nd annual Alliance BJJ Camp in Buzios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The camp will be from July 11, 2005 to July 20, 2005. If you didn't have a chance to attend the camp last year, don't miss out on this opportunity to learn and train from the source.

Buzios is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - jiu jitsu capital of the world and where it all began. Only 100 miles from the capital of Rio, Buzios is a paradise with clean beaches, a small village, and lots of activities, such as swimming, diving, surfing, biking, kayaking, and, of course, lots of jiu jitsu that can take your game to the next level. Romero 'Jacare' Cavalcanti, head coach of the Alliance Team, will personally supervise and coordinate the camp to ensure you the best experience of your life.

This year's Alliance instructors will be:

Romero 'Jacare' Cavalcanti - head coach of the 2x World Champion Alliance Team and recent inductee into the Grappling Hall of Fame.

Fabio Gurgel - first black belt under Jacare and considered one of the best fighters of the 1990s by Gracie Magazine. Fabio is a 4x World Champion.

Fernando Gurgel - 3rd degree black belt under Jacare multiple times Brazilian Champion, multiple times Rio State Champion, Master World Champion.

Alexandre Paiva - black belt under Jacare and considered one of the best BJJ instructors in the world. Alexandre has many Brazilian and World titles.

Felipe 'Zicro' Neto - black belt under Jacare with lots of experience as an instructor and competitor. Felipe has also won such titles as Calhoun, GA MMA Champion, Florida State Champion, Rio de Janeiro State Champion, and Pan Am BJJ, LA. 2nd Place

Marcelo Garcia - black belt under Fabio Gurgel and considered one of the most technical fighters today. He has many titles including Abu Dhabi 2003 Champion and 2004 BJJ World Champion.

    Guest instructor(s) will be:

Ricardo Vieira - black belt under Jacare and one of the best lightweights in the world today. Leo Vieira's younger brother, he started training at the age of 7. He has won many titles including 7x World Champion, 6x Brazilian Champion, and Brazil vs. Japan Cup Champion.

Here is what some of last year's participants had to say about the camp:

"The Alliance camp at Buzios had the best of both worlds. A place where one could go to totally to focus on there training, avoid any distractions and also have a lot of fun. Jacare made us all feel at home and apart of his family while making us train hard and experience jiu-jitsu training like never before. I highly recommend the camp to anyone, from a beginner or the advanced level grappler who wants to train hard in a beautiful atmosphere with one of jiu-jitsus elite coaches."

    Riccardo "BALEIA" Ammendolia
    2004 Copa Osvaldo Alves Champion
    2X Canadian Jiu-jitsu Champion

"As a beginner in the sport of BJJ, I had no idea of what to expect at your camp. Everything from the 10-day camp in the ocean-side town of Buzios to attending the world championships at Rio was first class. I would recommend the experience to anyone of any level involved in the grappling arts. Since coming home, I often think back to the great time we all had in Brazil. I am looking forward to attending your next camp."

    Jurgen Rudolph

"The camp was great, I had been training for about 3 months and it really solidified my love for jiu jitsu. I met people from other countries and got to train on beautiful beaches, I strongly recommend it."

    Karen Miller
