If you’re looking for a great form of exercise and a great way to gain self-esteem, then you may be missing out with regular cardio classes and weight sessions at your local gym.  An Indianapolis BJJ coach can help you reach the fitness and health goals you’ve always wanted to achieve, and it doesn’t matter what age you are!  Young or old, male or female, you could be on the right path to better overall health in just a short period of time.

If you’re looking to lose weight, then you may want to consider Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Besides just helping you achieve a more toned body and losing weight, there are other health benefits that come along with it.  One thing that you should note is that it’s an overall body workout, which isn’t something that comes with regular gym equipment.  You may be toning or shaping one particular area at a time, but it’s not nearly as effective as that overall body tone.

Many times Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is associated with combat skills and highly effective fighting skills; it’s also just a great way to relax, learn to respect and appreciate the art and gain better overall health regardless of your age.

One important thing to remember is that even if you are practicing BJJ, you won’t need to enter competitions; it’s simply not a requirement.  If that were the case, there would be a flood of individuals entering competitions at any given time.  It’s simply an excellent way to learn discipline and respect for the art and to help improve your overall health.

If you have a tough time sticking it out at the gym, it may be because the forms of exercise that you’re doing just aren’t holding your interest.  Running on a treadmill can seem monotonous and boring, and doing it day in and day out can ruin your motivation early on.  Indianapolis Jiu Jitsu Training facility offers quality training and various practices, so it’s not likely you’ll become bored as quickly or even at all.

There are various improvements to your health that BJJ can make, such as toning the body, helping you to lose that much needed weight and helping to lower your risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack and stroke.  You may be thinking that it’s not possible to learn the controlled movements and the form and functionality at an older age, but this simply isn’t true.  Regardless of your age, your health can benefit greatly from just a few of the practices learned in mixed martial arts, and over time with practice and discipline, you can learn to master the movements and improve your health.

For those individuals who currently suffer from or have a family history of high blood pressure, cardiovascular issues and even high cholesterol, this can all be eliminated or controlled with the practices found in MMA.  If you have poor circulation, difficult breathing and just feel like you’re in a rut, then contact our Indianapolis BJJ Coach today to get on the track to a better and more healthy lifestyle.
