The 6th annual Pan-American Championship, held in the United States since 1995, this event is the first steps towards the internationalization of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a sport.
The first event was held in Hawaii and a small group of almost 250 athletes took part in the pioneering and historical enterprise. The tournament has been growing and has achieved recognition as the biggest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in North America and as one of the most important events in the World.
Many of the best Americans in the game make their mark first at the Pan Ams before going to Brazil to prove themselves.
This years event was held in Orlando, Fla.
