California Xtreme Fighting Returns with New Thursday Night Fight Night Series on October 30, 2008 at New Venue. Special Appearance by EliteXC star KJ Noons.

California Xtreme Fighting (“CXF”) returns on Thursday, October 30, 2008 with the kick off of its new Thursday Night Fight Series. CXF will hold its third and final professional Mixed Martial Arts Card at a new venue, the El Monte Expo Center and Guanatos Bar in El Monte, CA. This new venue will allow CXF to bring its exciting MMA cards to a larger audience in a bigger and better venue for fighting. Each month, CXF will bring fight fans a different style of fighting, including MMA, Boxing, and Muay Thai/Kickboxing, making CXF the only full scale fighting organization of its kind in the state of California.

In November, CXF is proud to feature the return of former EliteXC Lightweight Champion Karl “KJ” Noons to the boxing ring in a six (6) round 155 lb fight against Ontario’s Alex Bogarin. Noons will be appearing at the October 30, 2008 MMA card.

Headlining the October 30, 2008 card will be a triple main event featuring Jaime Fletcher vs. Nick Braker, Toby Grear vs. Anthony McDavitt, and Sophie Bagherdai vs. Angela Hayes. A full fight schedule is set for the night featuring fighters from ShoElite, Gladiator Challenge, King Of The Cage, and Fatal Femmes. Jamie Fletcher (6-4), whose last four fights have been for either ShoXC or Pancrase, returns to his Southern California roots against Total Combat veteran Nick Braker (3-1). Both fighters are looking to return to victory in this exciting match up. Braker’s last fight on August 15, 2008 for ShoXC was a hard fought three round loss to international MMA star Cyrille Diabate. After the loss, Fletcher went back to his trainer Affliction star Josh Barnett to help him bring his game to the next level. Fletcher sees the road to stardom starting again with this fight.

TFA veteran and former champion Toby Grear (5-5) returns to CXF after a 2 year absence with a fight against local fighter, Anthony McDavitt (3-4). Grear, who trains with Total Warrior Gym, has had a successful run as TFA champion and is looking for his return to CXF. Grear believes that he has what it takes to be the CXF lightweight champion and will not let anything or anyone get in his way, starting with McDavitt. The last co-main event fight pits Sophie Bagherdai (3-1) against female fighting veteran Angela Hayes (1-4). Bagherdai is a Fatal Femme veteran who started her career with a 3 fight winning streak which was stopped by Carina Damm who later tested positive for steroids after the fight. Bagherdai wants return to her winning ways and show her true mettle against a tested veteran in Hayes. Hayes has previously fought female MMA stars Tonya Evinger and Julie Kedzie sees the up-and-coming Bagherdai as a great challenge.
