First time is ran in to Lister he was training no-gi at Carlson's with Wallid Ismail. This was about the time the Ryan vs Walid wars were on and Ryan & Wallid were both training with vengence in to fight in the WEC. Dean and Walid were training all day together. This was 4 years ago, Dean was a blue belt and we were kicking it on the beach in Rio. I knew then he was a cool guy, he was real nice, polite too. Four years later or so and the boy done went and proved he was the best in the world. Unreal. Congrats! Keep it up.

Dean has also been a regular on both the Grapplers Quest circut and the Machado Grappling Games evnets. He fought in the Pro Ams in North Carolina where he lost to a questionable call to Black Belt Comprido.

Dean is also an accomplished Vale Tudo fighter he is the King Of The Cage Belt holder at 185lbs. Dean will be defending his title on the 29th of June in San Jacinto, CA.
