IFL’S SILVERBACK TEAM MEETS THE CUBS AT WRIGLEY THURSDAY

Pat Miletich’s squad from Quad Cities stops by prior to Cubs-Diamondbacks game Thursday on way to Wizard World Chicago training seminars this weekend

August 1, 2006 – The International Fight League’s (IFL) Silverbacks team, based in Moline, Illinois, will make a pregame visit to Wrigley Field this Thursday on their way to the IFL legendary team Coaches Clinic, which will be held this weekend as part of Wizard World at the Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, it was announced today.

Davenport, Iowa native Pat Miletich, MMA lightweight and welterweight champion, will be joined on the field by his team, including lightweight Bart Palazewski (Bettendorf, IA), welterweight Rory Markham (Chicago. Ill.), middleweight Ryan McGivern (Davenport, IA), light heavyweight Mike Ciesnolevicz (Harrisburg, Pa.) and heavyweight Ben Rothwell (Kinosha, WI) prior to the Cubs-Diamondbacks game at approximately 11:45 a.m.

The Silverbacks won the initial IFL Legends Championship this past spring, and will compete on September 23 at The MARK of the Quad Cities Arena in Moline against the Pitbulls team, based in New York, as part of the IFL Team Championships this fall. The first full IFL season will begin in the first quarter of 2007.

Miletich and his team of local legends will be joined by IFL coaches including MMA heavyweight champion, Bas Rutten, world kickboxing champion Maurice Smith, world combat champion Renzo Gracie, Olympic silver medallist Matt Lindland and MMA star Shawn Tompkins for a series of clinics and seminars about techniques and strategies in Mixed Martial Arts. The seminars will be held throughout the day on Saturday August 5th and Sunday August 6th at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. For more info., log on to ifl.tv.
