Cesar Gracie held his second annual Gracie Open Tournament on September 24, 2000. It is a great Northern California tournament that featured some excellent talent this year. Gil Castillo, David Terrel and Raven, local talent faced three of So. Cal's finest Brazilian imports: Cleber, Macaco, and Jamelao. Gil Castilo impressed me the most with his matches with Cleber. It would have been interesting to see the Super Fights take place on larger mats with more space; often the fight went out of bounds and had to restart in the middle. The most exciting fights were in the ni-go tournament itself. The kids had some epic battles, as did the women's division. Kikskin Kimonos sponsored the event.
