I really hate day light savings time. It makes no sense to me. What's the point? Can anyone tell me why we even have it? I'll give a $100 gift certificate to whoever can tell me why we have it, and why it's a good idea? and don't say it is a sign summer is coming, because we have it in the fall too.
Some people say it is so the farmers can have more day light in the morning. I have worked on a farm. We worked no mater what time it was light or dark. Some people say it was to help the with war aid in WW2. Well i think that was long enough ago we can get over that too.
According to Wiki, and this is important so pay attention.
The government of Kazakhstan cited health complications due to clock shifts as a reason for abolishing DST in 2005.
If Kazakhstan knows it sucks, why cant we figure it out?

Daylight savings exists for
Daylight savings exists for the sole purpose of screwing up peoples' internal clocks, causing missed meetings, classes & appointments as well as causing general tiredness/exhaustion, leading to decreased productivity... The gov't can't have any operation running too efficiently because it
makes them look bad...

DST
Daylight Saving Time (or summertime as it is called in many countries) is a way of getting more light out of the day by advancing clocks by one hour during the summer. During Daylight Saving Time, the sun appears to rise one hour later in the morning, when people are usually asleep anyway, and sets one hour later in the evening, seeming to stretch the day longer.
The reason DST works is because its saves energy due to less artificial light needed during the evening hours—clocks are set one hour ahead during the spring, and one hour back to standard time in the autumn.

daylights saving time
Daylights saving time was from the idea of Benjamin Franklin, in 1784 he thought this idea would be " An economical project" he thought he could save costs and make people happier by enjoying extra long summer nights and also to save costs on electri to homeowners. By waking up early and going to bed ealier during certain periods of the months, saved electricity costs. (You go to bed at summer when still bright out, hints saved electric in summer, and go to bed earlier in winter and no stay up wasting electric due to dark and cold (winter)....... One reason we keep it is due to polls, shows that 79 percent of people actually enjoy daylight savings. (it gives more sun in the summer and less in the winter, whicih is ideal for most people. Reason we can't change daylight savings time is due to in 1918 "In act to preserve daylkight savings time for the united states" whcih basically means its in stone it isn't changing... THey have done the same thing for "time zone changes" yes they gradually change, but they will always be there...any more questions let me know :)

The primary reason was to
The primary reason was to save fuel by reducing the time that artificial lighting was used to light buildings. In 1918 it prolly was a good idea but i dont think that it serves much purpose anymore.
