Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Carlos Gracie, Jr., President of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation today announced that the IBJJF had officially recognized the North Carolina Jiu-Jitsu Federation as the organizing/supervising body for the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the State of North Carolina. In addition, Gracie announced the appointment of Joe Hurst as the President of the North Carolina Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Joe Hurst is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and operates five Jiu-jitsu Schools throughout North Carolina. They are located in Concord, Salisbury, Statesville, Ashville, and Hendersonville, NC. Mr. Hurst is also the organizer of the Budwiser Jiu-Jitsu World Cup, originally called the Dale Earnheart, Jr. Grappling Classic by Budwiser held in 2003 in Concord, NC, and scheduled for January 2006.
