Jose Bencosme former San Jose State Judo team captain, 5 times Florida State Champion, 3 times California State Champion, Collegiate National Champion, 2000 Olympic alternate , 2004 Olympic qualifier, ranked top ten at 73kg., 81kg., 90kg., and Open Weight class! Jose is currently teaching a kids program in Judo, as well as cross training in BJJ with good friend Dave Camarillo (Jose holds the rank of purple belt) and is considering both a try at MMA as well as a run at the Olympics in 2008. Jose Bencosme recently gave a seminar at One World Martial Arts (www.OnWorldMartialArts) in Fremont, CA and he was kind enough to share both a technique with us and some insight on what it takes to excel in Judo, the transition between Judo and other arts and his personal plans for the future.
