Owen Anderson (8 years old) of Gracie San Diego was recently promoted to yellow belt earlier this week after just one year of training. Owen, who trains under head instructors Regis Lebre & Johnny Faria, started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after his father, Chris Anderson, a blue belt at the academy started in February of 2009. In August of this year, Owen competed in his very first tournament, at which he took home a silver metal. Owen continues to train 3 times a week at the Gracie academy in hopes of competing again and with the dream of becoming a black belt some day.
