The Exhibition Park of Campos dos Goytacazes will stage the second edition of the X-Combat Ultra Grand Prix International, on May 20. Organized by a black belt in jiu-jitsu and former MMA fighter, Rodrigo Riscado, the event will be the first phase of the international Grand Prix up to 84 kg, with participation of four Brazilian athletes like Gustavo Ximú and Paulo Filho, facing four foreign fighters, from Chile, Argentina, France and USA. Each fighter will do two fights in one night. Ximú and Filho were scheduled to face off in Fatality Arena, in May, but the second ended up signing with a French event and the fight will not occur.
With 20 wins and 8 losses and holding the belt of the X-Combat, the veteran Ximú is one of the favorites, and duels in the first round against the young wrestler Jeremy Johnson, from Nova União-USA. Success in the Grand Prix and the invitation to fight overseas may arise.
Paulão follow his marathon fights. Before the GP, defeated Jackson Mora in the WFC Pretorian, on March 19, and was defeat by Ronny Markes in IFC, last Saturday. In the GP, faces the tough French Norman Paraisy, who owns a cartel with 8 wins and one defeat. And to close the series of battles, fights in 100% Fight 5, which happens on May 28, in Paris, France.
Riscado tells what he expects of X-Combat:
- "Personally, I am betting it will be one of the biggest MMA events ever held in Brazil. Through the X-Combat Ultra Grand Prix International, we will give the first effort for a new phase of the MMA in Brazil, highlighting the athletes and offering an unprecedented prize", promises.
