The Liga Profissionalde de Jiu-Jitsu or The Professional League of Jiu-Jitsu is an annual event put together by Fabio Grugel. The event offered great prize money and even cars to the winners. We have four fights for you to enjoy including Nino's match where he fought in the open division to avoid fighting any other Gracie Barra guys, because in the Pro-League team mates were forced to fight each other if they wanted to get paid. We have also included Comprido's final match where he actually tapes out and is still awarded the win? Comprido gets his head stuck in Rennato's gi forcing him to tap to a neck crank. Neck cranks were banned from this event so Rennato was disqualified. We can't understand why and submissions would be banned in a Professional Black Belt level event, what is Jiu-Jitsu coming too? Rumor has it the referee was also an Alliance representative, we're not sure if that is true. These fights were originally on my favorite Brazilian TV station Sport-Tv. Here are the fights.
