LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) added another valuable piece to its deep and exciting featherweight division by signing the talented, up-and-coming, Xtreme Couture standout Jimmy Jones to a 3-fight deal. The contract was signed last night and Jones is excited to join his new home.

The RFA’s acquisition of Jones comes right on the heels of another big announcement that was made by the organization yesterday, when it was revealed that the RFA plans to host its first show in Las Vegas, Nevada sometime this fall. After hosting three consecutive shows in Kearney, Nebraska, since its inception in December 2011, the RFA is now looking to bring its talent-rich roster to "The Fight Capital of the World" in October.
While the RFA plans to bring some of its big-name MMA stars Gilbert Yvel, Tyson Griffin, and Maurice Smith to Las Vegas, as well as some of its blue chip prospects Bubba Jenkins, Chris Holdsworth, and Lance Palmer, there was a final piece to the puzzle that needed to be addressed. The need to showcase some of the top local talent in their newly targeted market of Las Vegas.
In Nebraska, the RFA has promoted homegrown talent such as Dakota Cochrane and T.J. Hepburn. Now the RFA has one of the most exciting and promising featherweights in Las Vegas fighting for them during their first foray into Sin City. Jones is expected to fight on the RFA 4 card in Las Vegas, alongside his stablemate and training partner Tyson Griffin. Griffin is a 5-time "UFC Fight of the Night" award winner, who also signed a 3-fight deal with the RFA earlier this month.
Jones is a huge fan favorite among the fight-crazy MMA fans that inhabit a city that the UFC, Strikeforce, and Top Rank Boxing also call home. One of the founding members of the world-famous Xtreme Couture MMA gym, when it opened in January 2007, Jones was brand new to the sport back then. However, he quickly got an honor’s level education on the ways of combat. Randy Couture, Martin Kampmann, Gray Maynard, Tyson Griffin, Mike Pyle, and Jay Hieron are just a few of the stars that Jones has been training with from Day One.
Jones soon made a name for himself as an amateur MMA fighter, where he became wildly popular among fight fans, fellow fighters, and ring girls alike. His relentless, take-no-prisoner, fighting style saw him go on an impressive 7-fight winning streak and become just the second fighter in Tuff-N-Uff history to become a champion in two weight classes (135-pounds and 145-pounds).
The man known as "The Rabbit" then quickly asserted himself in the pro ranks, after making his professional MMA debut for King of the Cage in November 2010. He knocked out his opponent Scott Brommage in a blistering 11 seconds. That fight took place on his home turf of Las Vegas, which is a city Jones has never lost in as a professional. That includes 3 wins in the SCC over the likes of Walter Patterson, David Bollea, and Joao Victor. Jones will now look to once again remain unbeaten at home, as he is set to make his RFA debut in Las Vegas this fall.
