The U.S. Open has become so popular that after 15 years in Santa Cruz, CA, the tournament has outgrown it's iconic venue. For the 16th installment, the U.S. Open will move to nearby San Jose, CA
in a much larger venue at the San Jose State University Events Center.

There will also be a Referee & Rules Seminar the same Friday before the tournament. The seminar, led by IBJJF's Director of Referees Alvaro Mansor, is a seminar for anyone seeking a greater understanding of sport jiujitsu rules. The seminar will be held at Claudio Franca's San Jose academy. See more details below.
Referee & Rules Seminar on Friday, October 14
Want to learn the rules of sport jiu-jitsu? Professor Alvaro Mansor, 4th Degree Black Belt and Director of Referees for the Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJF) and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), will be conducting a Rules and Referee seminar in order to help maintain and enhance the quality of refereeing at the U.S. Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament.

This seminar is not only for referees. It is for anyone who seeks a greater understanding of the sport of Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu.
