    Winterfist II

Former US Marine and grappling stand out Josh Griggs (6-3) as expected made short work of his opponent Ronald Lebreton (4-2) Sunday night at the Marriott in Irvine California.

As the bell rang Griggs would need only a few seconds to put his opponent on his back before posturing up to land punches from within the guard position. As each would find there mark Lebreton would attempt to scramble to his knees only to have Griggs secure a side position as he turtled up to avoid the onslaught of his opponent. Seeing that Lebreton could not improve his position the ref would have no choice but to the stop fight giving Griggs the TKO victory.

In the co main event Chad George (8-4) would stop his opponent Lonnie Wright (4-3) via doctor’s stoppage due to a cut that came late in the third round. For three rounds both fighters would engage in a seesaw battle that would take place on the feet and the floor. Late in the fight however George would start to take over as his opponent showed signs of fatigue and after taking a brutal right hand to the eye the doctor would stop the fight giving George the TKO victory.

That Afternoon Aaron “The Blood spiller” Miller (5-4) would get back on the winning track as he would finish James Geggie (4-1) in the second round of their fight. From the sound of the bell to the time the ref would pull Miller off his opponent he would dominate the fight using his wrestling skills and positional control. Showing patience Miller would pick and choose his strikes while on top until the end as he would rain down a barrage of strikes from the back mount that would make the ref stop the fight.

In a welterweight contest Napoleon Lechuga (1-0) would up his fight record to 2-0 as he would stop OC Muay Thai fighter Cesar Macias (1-0). Thirty seven seconds in all Lechuga would need to score the takedown, pass his opponents guard and get to the mount position before landing punches that would force the ref to the stop the fight and award him the win via TKO.

Robert Vargas (3-0) would remain undefeated that afternoon as he would use the rear naked choke effectively to make his opponent Salem Shubash (1-0) tap out to avoid passing out in the first round.

In a battle of newcomer Mario Navarro would win his bout against Adam Sohayda using striking combinations that would make the ref to the call the fight giving Navarro his first pro win.

Finally on the card new comer Carlos Ramirez would KO TFA veteran Sterling Trotter (1-1) in an impressive fashion using brutal punches from within the guard position in less then one round of action.
