Brandon Wilson's story could be the basis of an Oscar-winning screenplay, just like the film classic "Rocky."
 
Just like cinema's ultimate underdog Rocky Balboa, Wilson has overcome stumbling blocks to reach a top prize in his sport - mixed martial arts.
After fighting through a bracket that started in April, the former La Serna High School wrestler won his final bout last Saturday to capture the title of California State Mixed Martial Arts Champion.

With Thanksgiving and the Holidays right around the corner, we are asking you if you can sponsor a child at Blackmat MMA. This would give a child in need the opportunity to participate in our afterschool programs. We are a non profit 501-c-3 Charity organization that serves the youth in the community.

 The Goodwill Tour kicks off this weekend with two screenings in the LA area and appears at the Beverly Hills Film Festival on Sunday.
 

Come see the documentary chronicling legendary UFC fighter Jens Pulver's struggle to overcome adversity in and out of the cage. Jens' story is inspirational and he will be attending the event and doing a live Q&A to share it with the Black Mat MMA Youth, Hawaiian Gardens Youth Activity League, South Gate Police Explorer's, and George Valdez Kickboxing Youth. But everyone is invited to attend and be moved by Jens' gripping story. $20 donation encouraged.

Jens Pulver will be coming to BlackMat MMA on April 9th, 2011 @ 7:00 pm to screen his new documentary "Driven". He will be giving his testimony to the BlackMat Kids and will be signing autographs.
