Actually Frank is a good referee, but he seemed to want me to say that in this report.

I've never been to Detroit before excepting the airport, however seeing the work that promoter Sean Bansfield had taken care of to bring a grappling event to Michigan...

For me it was an eye opener to think there was a martial arts scene outside of the "Big 3" (Being the United States, Brazil and Japan).

What would an OntheMat road trip to the East Coast be without a bit of misadventure?

The distance between Mountain View and Las Vegas is 542 miles. Why I agreed to travel that distance in Cameron's 68 Dodge Dart is still a mystery to me as I type this

Brian's got running a tournament down to such an exact science at this point one almost takes it for granted. (So honestly, I didn't mean to show up late and miss the advanced divisions of the tournament and I wasn't hung over either. J) In addition, GQ employs the best referee team in the business, and a dedicated behind the scenes crew which insures that each of these events runs smoothly. 487 Competitors tooks the mats in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling Style matches and the enter event was completed in 8 hours and 15 minutes.
