The World Grappling Games began in Southern California as a series of tournament sponsored by Jean Jacques Machado (OntheMat has covered most of these tournament extensively) but has now morphed into a national circuit marked by fairness, smooth running schedules and a high level of competition. The event held on June 22nd and 23rd was no exception to the rule, and featured both a BJJ tournament on the first day and submission grappling on the second. At any rate, my brain is shooting blanks right now as far as a detailed trip description and the like, but look for an article penned by yours truly in Grappling magazine very soon.
