This is a technique that we were working on in December in our Advanced Class.
Simple, easy, and no fancy movements. It may not always be a position that you get the first time setting up, but if you get used to looking for it you will find it when attacking an armbar from side control or mount. It is a counter to certain escapes. So learn it, drill it, then when sparring look for it.

The tournament is being organized by Want vs. Need. It will be an 8-Man tournament featuring 8 top Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belts competing in One Division (Light-Featherweight/Featherweight/Lightweight). The Rules are Simple: Submission Only with No Time Limit.
My name is Henry Akins and I teach Jiu Jitsu at Dynamics MMA in los angeles, CA. I trained with Rickson Gracie for over 15 years. I got my black belt from Rickson in 2004.
