     Hey everybody!!

I had the pleasure this past weekend of traveling down to Los Angeles to watch the Pan Kids tournament at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The level of Jiu-Jitsu displayed by these children always amazes me. I didn't even start Jiu-Jitsu until I was ten years old and some of these kids are younger than that and have games that make them look like little purple belts. Our team did really well earning the top spot in the mighty might division and taking home the third place trophy for the Pee Wees.

Nathan Mendelsohn's American Jiu-Jitsu Player in Brazil Blog, Entry #3: Training at Soulfighters, Rio Open, Tips, Injury

    Sat, 2011-08-20 17:00 — Nathan Mendelsohn

     Hey Everybody!

So let's continue with the catch up....

After competing the World Cup(see entry #2) I was taken to the apartment of my good friend and black belt from Soulfighters team Marcus Antelante where I would spend the next two weeks. Marcus had spent two weeks at my house in California training with our team at Claudio Franca's academy before the IBJJF Mundial 2010 and now he always makes me feel at home when I'm here in Brazil.

Tsui-Jen "Soo Bee Doo" Cunanan Wins Big in Her Pro Debut!

    Tue, 2011-04-12 13:50 — JayPagesJJ

As the title says it; Tsui-Jen "Soo Bee Doo" Cunanan wins big in her pro debut on Greg Jacksons's, Jackson's MMA Series 4 card in Albuquerque, New Mexico this past Saturday on April 9, 2011! This was a very momentous occasion! Tsui-Jen fought a very tough opponent Kelley Renee. We were going into her backyard, she trains in a higher elevation, at one of the worlds best MMA schools, and to top it off, she is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So, it seems the cards were stack against us. We were the obvious underdogs. To us, it meant nothing. She had more to loose!

1st Belt Promotion for 2011! New Year! New Format!

    Fri, 2011-03-18 14:10 — JayPagesJJ

March 12th was the first of 4 belt and stripe promotions to be held this year at Jay Pages Jiu-Jitsu and Phoenix Combat Academy. With the New Year came new changes to the format that had been used for many years. In past Belt Promotions, I had put forth a test. A test of a student’s competency level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and its techniques! However, in past years it had simply taken too long to go through the test. I wanted to involve all who came to show their support of the strip or belt recipients. So with that in mind, I put the changes in motion.
