    BJJ Survey Results

    Wed, 2013-07-10 10:46 — Benjamin Bieker

Recently, Brian Riggsbee, a San Francisco native, did a survey of nearly 700 people about the sport of BJJ. These were people of all shapes, sizes, ages, belt levels, and nearly all of them are actively training. He asked them questions about what inspired them to join the sport, about the injuries they have faced, how much pain they have, what supplemental training they do, and among other things if they had ever been choked unconscious. As weird as it sounds even 29% percent admitted to it, but it makes you wonder how many didn't cop to it.

    Lower back pain

    Sun, 2011-11-13 01:51 — Rosi Sexton

The lower back is formed from the five lumbar vertebrae that sit between your pelvis and your ribcage, together with all the associated muscles, ligaments, intervertebral discs, and other assorted bits and bobs in the area.
There are numerous possible causes of lower back pain, but one stands out from all the others both because of how common it is in everyday life, and also for the amount of trouble it can cause....  Read more about lower back injury here

Sorry, you need to install flash to see this content.

I have recently been nursing a shoulder injury for the past few weeks and it has hinderd my lifestyle quite a bit, having to go easy while training Jiu JItsu, not being able to train Muay Thai or even weight train! so i went to see a good friend of mine, founder of Physiotraning, Cristiane Barbosa-Timoteo.

MRI - Things are only looking worse now.

I made it to back to the hospital, the same place where I had to go to the emergency room. The same place no one wanted to do an MRI on me, because I wasn't hurt bad enough? But here I am, back again.  MRI is always a fun experience, slid into the tunnel that feels the way a coffin must. I just close my eyes and listen to the loud buzzing and clicking.

I remember when discs were CD discs or disk drives. Now discs are ruining my life.

After I got out of the emergency room, I got sent to a few doctors for follow up to my back injury. I got sent to a pain specialist & orthopedic surgeon. The pain guy just wanted to pump me up with cortisone and crap. I was over that, but he did take this crazy x-ray of my discs.
