On Saturday, December 19, 2009, Strikeforce returns to its hometown of San Jose to host Strikeforce - Evolution. The event will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California, which is home to the San Jose Sharks of the NHL. This will be the final event of the year for Strikeforce, which will conclude the busiest and most successful year in the organization's history. Strikeforce - Evolution will be televised on Showtime at 10 p.m. EST/PST.

On Saturday, November 7, 2009, Strikeforce will make its first foray into the Land of Lincoln with Strikeforce - Fedor vs. Rogers. The event will take place at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The event will be co-promoted by Strikeforce and M-1 Global and will air on a prime time slot on CBS in the United States. It will be televised in the United Kingdom at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday on Bravo. It will also be streamed live online at OmniSport.TV in all countries in which there are no exclusive television deals in place.

On Friday, June 19, 2009, Strikeforce will host its second ShoMMA - Strikeforce Challengers event at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. ShoMMA is a MMA series produced by Strikeforce and the Showtime cable network. Similar to Showtime's earlier ShoXC, the purpose of the series is to highlight up-and-coming MMA fighters. The event, which will be located in the outskirts of Seattle was sanctioned by the Washington State Athletic Commission. Unlike other athletic commisions, the WSAC did not permit one-pound allowances during the weigh-ins.
