Who's New
Nico Andrews?
Sat, 2010-12-18 10:43 — booya
I discovered a new MMA gym in town. The BJJ instructor is Nico Andrews. It says he was a Pan Am jiu jitsu champ. I can't find any info on this or any info on where he got is black belt. Anyone have any info on him or heard of him. Here is a link to the site: http://www.kentfieldmma.com/instructors.html?Subject=Web%20Inquiry

Just an observation...but the Black Belt in the first image looks drawn on...
Also, I looked at both the Pan and the Worlds from 2005 (IBJJF) and didn't find his name. Could have been an over sight on my part.

I didn't even notice the picture. Definitley looks photoshoped. I also checked the Pan Am results and couldn't find his name anywhere. It says he holds a black belt from Rio but doesn't mention the school. It also claims on his site that he holds a red belt from Osaka. Maybe he competed under another name? I decided to pass on his gym.
It sure sounds a little
It sure sounds a little shady! and that black belt is fake for sure!

That is his neck of the woods. he would know.

Haven't heard of him. Not to say thathe isn't who he says he is, but I definitely haven't heard of him. That's actually closer to Mikyo I think, should send him a message.

Before I post further, I think the responsible thing to do (on my part ) is try to contact Nico Andrews and invite him to clarify things.
Nico
Nico won at the Pan Am games five, maybe six years ago. He was 50 years old at the time and is in that age bracket. I've been trainging with Nico for over a year. He's legit. Just drop Saturdays at noon. It's an open mat. You can roll with us and decide for yourself.
