    Tue, 2010-08-10 11:33 — Combs

From the Lovato Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lovatos-Brazilian-Jiu-Jitsu/259872787739?ref=ts):

Congratulations to Justin Rader for becoming the first Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt today! Also, congratulations to Shiloh Roberts, Trevor Cowan, Dustin Phillips, James Head, Steven Jones, Jon May, Russ Schwettman, and Fletcher Hoffman for receiving their Purple Belts today! It was a very special day and a great week with Xande Ribeiro!

From the Lovato Jiu Jitsu website (http://www.okbjj.com):
    Special Promotions!
    Monday, August 09, 2010

Last week was a very special week at Lovato's. We were very fortunate to have Xande Ribeiro teaching classes for a few days and to wrap things up, we had a school party and promotion day at the end of the week. It was a historic day for Lovato's as we had eight students receive their Purple Belts and Justin Rader became the very first Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. James Head, Shiloh Roberts, Trevor Cowan, Dustin Phillips, Russ Schwettman, Fletcher Hoffman, Steven Jones, and Jon May all received their Purple Belts. All of these gentleman have been dedicated students of Lovato's for years and we were very happy to promote all of them on the same day. Justin Rader has been one of the worlds top brown belts for quite some time, having medaled at the World Championships and reaching the finals of the Pan Ams three years in a row. Rader is also a veteran of the prestigious ADCC World Submission Wrestling Championships and he was a brown belt no-gi World Champion. During his time as a brown belt, Rader became a very good instructor, teaching multiple classes a week at Lovato's and coaching many of Lovato's competitors. We are very proud of Rader's hard work and we look forward to watching him grow as a Black Belt. Congratulations to all!

    Congrats to Rader.
