Thu, 2006-12-21 17:08 — cshudson
I am trying to find a website or somewhere that i can find out all of the steps or criteria that you need to know to progress from white to blue belt in BJJ. I was wanting to start studying early, thanks for the help.
If it matters my club is affiliated with the pedro sauer club.

"sleepy spudgy" will certainly illustrate your mood.

youtube is gay, it doesnt work for my computer.....the dial up connection doesnt help either......
hello,
have heard youtube described many ways. never that way. hmmmm. yep. it is. hahahahahahaha!!!!!!! not really clear about the different kinds of connections, so no comment on dial up.
thanks.
im glad we can agree on that
dial up is byfar the worst, slowest way to have internet.....
hello,
oh. what causes the issues with a site like youtube? is it the video contents?
thanks.
no, it takes about 20 min to connect and load and play a 2 min vid.....its just slow.....
hello,
sounds like dial up is evil. and inconvenient. and evil.

I heard that somewhere there is a list of like 24 techniques that the Gracies require in order to get your blue belt.
I was curious about the new requirements the Gracie Academy had for beginners/Blue Belts, so I emailed them. One of the staff emailed me a document with what they require now.
Basic self defense techniques and ground work is what it had on it. Most can be found on the Basic, Intermediate, and Self Defense tapes they have out.
Thanks for the help i think white to blue if im not mistaken is like 85techniques but i could be way off. thanks
The Pedro Sauer White to Blue dvd's have around 85 techniques on them. A friend of mine tested for his blue under Pedro a few years ago and he told me it was more like a lesson in itself. He basically demonstrated a few techniques from each position and Pedro discussed certain key points about the moves. I believe they rolled a bit too.
win a blue belt tournament on your division and you should be ok
but if you are not the tournament type go visit other gyms and see what they say too
thanks for all the replys, i appreciate it.
hello,
good luck to cshudson. the "crowd" here really is helpful, are they not?
thanks.
