which fighter/grappler are you?

    Tue, 2007-01-09 16:05 — lorenzodamarith

    hello,

this may sound like a strange question, but there is actually a somewhat not-strange reason for it.

pick a fighter/grappler that uses the same style/approach as you do. skill levels can be different of course. just wondering about the mathematical odds a certain style or approach is utilized. agreed, there are only a few that seem to be used regularly on tv, but in the real world (with thousands, possibly millions of participants) the odds may be quite different.

    thanks.

I am not sure. I am basically a Mauy Thai boxer who loves no gi JJ.

LD, post that link from WWG that shows what fighter you're most like based on your answers to a few questions. I was Fedor Emilienko. Boy, was I surprised.

    hello,

shaolinbushido. this device is know, but not the one in mind here. this is simply a self description.

for example, you know your general style and approach. is there any figher/grappler out there you can think of that emulates the same style/approach?

just thought of something. while the forementioned device is known to exist, lorenzodamarith has not looked at it. have only seen responses to it. does this device accomplish the same thing?

    thanks.

    hello,

ah ha. something like that. only a bit more specific. that is there are many fighters that might fit that profile, but still have different approaches.

but this is on the right track.

basically, the impetus is this: trying to figure out in real world terms the mathematical odds a given fighter will end up this way or that.

same thing behind the threads entitled applied statistics.

    thanks.

    Royce Gracie
    You scored 27% Sprawl n Brawl, 53% Lock n Choke, 37% Ground n Pound, and 33% Lay n Pray!
You seem to be very skilled on the ground, but tend to use the standard gracie strategy... which is waiting in the guard until your opponent is tired and then set him up for a submission.

    Ricardo Arona
    You scored 13% Sprawl n Brawl, 71% Lock n Choke, 70% Ground n Pound, and 33% Lay n Pray!
The good thing is: You are a successful decision fighter. Your groundgame is very good, you have good submissions and ground control. The bad thing is: Your fights are boring like hell. Although you have the skills so submit or knock somebody out on the ground you prefer to play safe and stay in the guard.

Just got back from the superdome a lil while ago. Watched the Saints beat the Eagles. Now we gotta see who wins tomorrow. If the Seahawks win they gotta come to the Dome. If the Bears win we gotta go to Chicago. I'm a Seahawk fan tomorrow.

We won 27-24. It was a great game (we won :) ). Neither team played great but a win is a win.

Football is good sh*t. My playing days are far behind me but I still pull for my squads.

Oh yeah I watched the game from home. The Saints are on a roll. I have followed the Saints since I was 9 years old (1974) and I have been waiting for this season for a long time.

Sorry underdog but our N.O. boy Peyton will keep your Pats from a Miami trip.

It's gonna be the home team (Saints) & the home team native (Peyton/Colts).

    WHO DAT?

No!! not daivd Hasselhoff. You see underdog knows that KibunInc's real first name is David. You see if you go to the Police forum it list my name as creator of KibunInc and moderator of the forum. Also I just posted some new videos there including a few from N.O.

    hahaha

on another note....about what you said lorenzo..knowing beckham i dont think hes doing it because of a noble cause or that he wants a new challenge like he says...ever since he started all the glamour type stuff hes game has been way down....never seen the beckham that played at manchester again...except sometimes with the freekicks..
i heard that the galaxy is doing it since hes the most well known player and they want to get more people going to the stadium and see if other teams will start picking up world class players as well..
