Marcelo Garcia vs. Diego Sanchez
Tue, 2007-02-27 20:43 — Bevois
This is from the quarter-finals of the 2005 ADCC trials. Marcelo is the best in the world with and without a gi. Diego is the best fighter to come out of the TUF shows and has a nice sense of style when it comes to repping OTM across the back of his shorts. Diego showed a ton of heart, skill, and stamina, but Marcelo eventually proves why he's the best.

hello,
thanks to bevois for the link. that was a terrific match. only the slightest hint of stalling. almost 12 minute match, but it did not seem like it.
lots of action in this one. diegosanchez did amazingly well considering it was marcelogarcia he faced. that had to unbelievabley tough... tons and tons of cardio, with a large side of fitness....
wow.
thanks
great match...thanks for the link....damn, there were a lot of times where they were going so fast i had to rewind it to see exactly what was going on...lol
great vid thanks
hello,
the strangest thing is marcelogarcia's ability to stand from the seated position while being engaged. he can just sort of stand up and slam others at will. haven't seen anyone else that makes extensive use of this. marcelogarcia does this nearly every match.
how? can this be "forced" or does it depend on the other guy doing something?
wouldn't mind knowing how to do that. course, need to be able to flatten legs to the floor like that first.....
thanks.
I dont think diego is as skilled as marcelo but it is a testament to his heart and cardio etc etc that he stayed in there for that long and did what he did. I love the way he jumps up and down after loosing. he was jsut so happy to leave it all on the mat. He is a true competitor. I love the guy.
hello,
agreed hpf!! it is inspiring to see a fighter so enthusiastic about competing. guys like that make it worth watching the matches. agreed, he was definitely outclassed by marcelogarcia, but what a battle, neh?
how many have gone that kind of distance with marcelogarcia (no gi)? not many. a few, but they are very very high level. the greatest accomplishment by diegosanchez in this match was to give 110% and love it regardless of the outcome.
also, first thing marcelogarcia did was reach out to shake his hand. class act.
thanks.
the Video was great but what was up with the music ??
i kept it on silent till the last minute ...
hello,
agreed. not exactly a soundtrack conducive to viewing. too bad.
still, excellent match!!!
thanks.
