Officers Down

Hey guys,

It is with a great amount of sadness and regret that I inform you that we lost two officers, Officer Sean Clark and Officer Jeff Shelton, to hostile gunfire on the evening of 03/31/2007. Shortly after beginning their shift these officers were both shot & killed in an apparent ambush style attack as they were responding to a domestic disturbance. These guys were both great officers and great guys. Officer Clark leaves behind a pregnant wife and a 3 year old son. Officer Shelton leaves behind a wife. They both worked in my division and I considered them close friends. I, as well the other members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department would appreciate if you guys could keep these fallen heros and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
