Chicago BJJ Instructor
Mon, 2007-05-21 13:45 — DPro27
Can anyone tell me anything about Pedro Vianna as an instructor? I live in Chicago and I am trying to choose the correct instructor. There is Carlson Gracie Jr, but he barely teaches any of the classes. There is Bob Schirmer and Combat-Do which I have heard mixed reviews of. Adam Redzovic (sorry for spelling if wrong) class times do not work with my work schedule really. Most of the other schools are not around my home and would require a decent amount of driving. Any info you can give me on Pedro Vianna would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Drew

I actually train with Pedro Vianna right now.
Pedro is a great instructor, he used to be the front man for Carlson Jr's school (who awarded him the bb). He left to open his own school, where he teaches every class.
Classes are small, (always less than 10 people) - it might be a good thing, depending on how you look at it. Most students are begginers, but there are always 2 black belts to roll with.
I suggest you come by to check it out for yourself - the first 2 classes (I believe) are free.
