Saulo and Xande kicked my ass....

    Mon, 2008-01-07 10:25 — Gumby

    ...in basketball yesterday.

Dropped by Jay Janero's old school for his new school's grand opening seminar yesterday (the weather has been bad up here in NorCal) and got a chance to learn from the Ribeiro brothers at the seminar they taught. Excellent stuff, Xande talked about the importance of position and safety and worked his way into his deep half guard series and Saulo showed me a few good tricks I can't wait to use. The brothers taught for two hours each, (it was a long weekend and they actually had five instructors total), but i think everyone got a lot out of it.

Afterwards Jay and I played the brothers in a little 2 on 2 basketball and I'm honor bound to report that they bet us on a score of 8 to 5. Although I used to play a lot I haven't touched a basketball in two years. No excuses! Next time I'm going to get em :)

    hello,

sounds like it was a weekend well spent. you will get them next time.

interesting, yours is the first post (that this skull remembers) mentioning a seminar in which one of the subjects was safety.

anything notable about that we should know?

    thanks.
