Liz Posener at Grapplers’s Quest

    Liz Posener form our club went to Grapplers Quest for her first major tournament

    She entered 6 divisions and her results are:

    -1st/belt- Adv. No gi middle weight

    -1st/belt- Adv no gi heavy weight

    -2nd av no gi 160+

    -2nd no gi absolute- all weights/ranks

    -2nd BJJ blue belt middle weight

    -2nd BJJ absolute- all weight/ranks

    She is a blue belt under Marcus Soares who is Carlson Gracie’s number one student. Soares is the highest ranking black belt under the late great BJJ fighter. He trained Denis Kang and gave him his black belt. In Brazil they call him the Professor

    As a blue belt she broke a black belts arm in the absolute division

    Not bad for her first Grapplers Quest

    Sounds like she did well except for the broken arm on an opponent. I hope that was by accident. Best of luck to her in future tournaments. she should post here.

    I saw her whoop ass at the Revolution Tourney in Feb down here in Seattle. SHe is good! I echo the concern for the arm, but otherwise good for her!
