Post a video, win a $250 gift certificate
Fri, 2008-05-16 07:24 — Gumby
That's right post your videos to the OTM online library and be entered in our sweepstakes.
Each video posted will count as an entry to the sweepstakes for a drawing for a $250 gift certificate for the OTM online store!
The more videos you post, the more chances you have to win!
Drawing will be held and winner will be announced on May 31st!
Have you uploaded a video yet? It's actually really easy....
The video upload process is actually in two steps:
1st Step (which is the same if you are uploading a file from your HD or YouTube/DailyMotion/Wherever) is entering the video title, description and tags. The first two are self explanatory, Tags are quick phrases where you can find the video quickly. For example in a video titled "Jeff Glover vs Glen Ortiz" I set the tags as JEFF GLOVER GLEN ORTIZ GRAPPLERS QUEST. You can also select 1-3 video categories. Almost all matches fall under Jiu Jitsu, Submission Grappling or MMA. Sometimes there are other factors, such as women so I check that off as well. If a match ends in a submission, I'll check off the category which closely resembles the submission.
2nd step is actually uploading the video: If it is simply a video on your hard drive, then select the appropriate tab and upload away, nothing else to worry about, the site does the rest. A word of caution: Make sure the original video is encoded at 30 fps, or playback will be off (affects a number of the older OTM videos, but videos of the last few years won't have this issue).
IF you are embedding from another site, you need to find the embed code on the original page. Youtube for example usually has this on the right hand column of the page, or will have it on the video itself at the very end. Cut and paste this code into the appropriate section on OTM. You also need to upload a thumbnail image of the video (this is a file that needs to be uploaded) and indicate the length of the video in minutes and seconds.
Check out our online library, we're converting our entire library of videos to our new system. New content updated constantly!
To be considered eligible, videos must fall in the criteria as acceptable entries to the OTM Video Database. No copyrighted or obscene material.
