May 18: Steve Koepfer on Dhani Tackles the Globe

    Mon, 2009-04-20 09:59 — sambosteve

    Hey all,

Be sure to check out the Season Finale of "Dhani Tackles the Globe" on Travel Channel. I travel with Dhani to Russia as one of his coaches for the show. I have not seen the final edited version yet, but it seems like it will be a great episode.

    From the travel channel website:
    http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Dhani_Jones

    Russia -- May 18 at 9 E/P
Russia welcomes Dhani not only with homemade vodka, but also with the chance to become a true Sambo fighter. Sambo, the art of self-defense without weapons, proves to be a complex and challenging sport for Dhani. To prepare, he takes ballet lessons and visits a Russian military base, becoming an inspired and coordinated fighter.

I watched the show and thought it was cool. I even took a training tactic from the show. I always practice shooting and taking down my opponent from a punch but I stop there and start over. I now finish the sub as part of it. I have always liked ankle locks and Steve you reviewed a video for my on ankle locks KibunInc.com. By the way which person were you Steve. For all I know you could have had Steve written on your back and I did not notice. :)

Hey, what's up? How have you been?

I was the American guy (blonde/grey hair). Did the demo in the beginning, the rolling armbar later on, and coached Dhani in his fight.

Cool I remember who you were. Now I can put a face to the name I see all over the place. Just been training and doing some MMA and Thai Boxing. Turned 44 so I may not be competing much more. Take care. :)
