Brock Lesnar credits God for his physique

    Thu, 2009-07-02 08:13 — chernobyl kid

Former University of Minnesota wrestling All-American Brock Lesnar, the current Ultimate Fighting Champion heavyweight title holder, took a swipe at President Obama in an interview and bragged that he is "built like a black man" as he credited God -- and not steroids -- for his physique.

Lesnar's smorgasbord of comments came in an interview with Maxim that was published in May and posted Friday on Fightline.com, a website that covers mixed-martial arts, ultimate fighting and other forms of professional wrestling.

Lesnar was a two-time All-American and 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion for the Gophers. His post-college career took off when he became a star with the WWE for two years, a part of his life that he recalled with some regret.

"You live a double life," the 285-pound Lesnar said. "I was tired of trying to be who I was in the ring and then coming home for two days to be normal. They didn't allow you to be. The guys who get out are the smart ones, really and truly."

Lesnar also took a swipe at President Obama when talking about having money for the first time in his life while in the WWE.

"I acted foolishly," he said in the interview, noting the he owned four homes (one in western Hennepin County), a private plane, two Hummers and a Mercedes. Asked whether he has saved for retirement, he responded: "That's private. But if Obama keeps spending our money like this, I'll have to fight till I'm 50."

Concerning steroids and his ability to stay ripped, Lesnar said.

"I bet you I've taken over 60 steroid tests. In college, I had 15 random drug tests in two years. I've taken drug tests for the NFL, the WWE, the UFC. I must be pretty good at masking steroids. God gave me this body: Are you jealous of it or what? Give me a break.

"I got the genetics of--not to get into racism or anything--but I'm built like a black man. Would you say so?"

if you're gonna keep bashing fighters and other people in the sport, maybe you should include reasons instead of just posting baseless insults.

lol yes God gave him the ability to buy steriods and growth harmone. With that said, there is still alot of dedication needed to get that size. You can't just take steriods and grow that big over night there is alot of training that goes into obtaining a build like that.

being a cop, you should know people in this country are innocent until proven guilty. when has Brock ever tested positive for steroids?

if you're gonna keep bashing fighters and promoters, why don't you try making some valid points for once?

Yes as a cop I agree that people are inocent until proven guilty. Also when I see smoke I tend to go see where the fire is at. When I see rain clouds I tend to say it is going to rain. When I see a guy who is built beyond normal size, I mean muscles and body fat percentage, squared off jar I tend to see a person who has taken steriods.

As I cop when I see a guy stabing a person to death I acuse him of murder, but he is still innocent until proven guilty. I just come to court with my evidence along with my observations. I do not tend to make random acusations without some forethought.

What do you do when the court says the guy has taken over 60 steroid tests? In college, the guy had over 15 random drug tests in two years through the NCAA. After college, he's taken drug tests for the NFL, the WWE, and the UFC, which involved the state athletic commissions of California, Minnesota, and Nevada (twice). What do you say when the court repeatedly finds him clean and innocent? You know what I do? I credit the guy for being a freak athlete with an incredible work ethic.

He is good at cleaning himself out, just like many in MMA today.

Do you have any idea what a random drug test means? It means they don't know when they are being tested.

MMA fighters are also tested by the the government every time they compete in major fight states (Nevada, California, New Jersey, etc). The UFC even conducts its own private testing when they have shows overseas with no testing. They ended up suspending Chris Leben after he failed their private test following UFC 89 in the UK. No other sport has their star athletes tested after each competition. You never make any valid points based on fact. All you do is attack key figures and fighters in the sport with unfounded insults.

To answer your question if I can not convict him then I let him go and try again.

I had a cousin who played football in college. He was told well in advance of the random drug test. He would either clean up or get someone elses urine as a sample. Brock is old enough now to not have to take roids in order to stay big. I would guess he started taking them in high school where there is no testing. In college he could have cheated or just take the roids in the off season and not during competition.

Regarding HGH (Human Growth Harmon) it is the hardest to test for.

Just for the record I read an interview on OTM with Jeff Munson. He said he had taken steroids in the past yet never tested positive in his life. I believe people can do this.

It is like we say in Police work, it is not what you know but what you can prove. :o
