Cesar Gracie held his second annual Gracie Open Tournament on September 24, 2000. It is a great Northern California tournament that featured some excellent talent this year. Gil Castillo, David Terrel and Raven, local talent faced three of So. Cal's finest Brazilian imports: Cleber, Macaco, and Jamelao [2]. Gil Castilo impressed me the most with his matches with Cleber. It would have been interesting to see the Super Fights take place on larger mats with more space; often the fight went out of bounds and had to restart in the middle. The most exciting fights were in the ni-go tournament itself. The kids had some epic battles, as did the women's division. Kikskin Kimonos sponsored the event.
