On May 24, 2003, 16 top grapplers (plus 3 alternates) from around the United States, came together to compete in a closed door, no-gi, no time limit tournament. Fighters came from schools/teams such as Gracie Torrance, Machado Torrance, 10th Planet, and Nova Uniao. The
16-man card was by invitation only. The basic rules were, no time limit, all subs allowed, and no stalling. This tournament would come to be known as, the Southern Califorrnia Pro-Am Invitational.
Some of the stand-out competitors were Rener Gracie (in his first no-gi tournament), Ryron Gracie (Superfight), Cassio Werneck (2003 Pan-Am and Mundial champion), Joe Stevenson (KOTC champion), Drew Fickett (RITC Veteran), Tyrone Glover (2003 Pan-Am champion), Paulo Guillobel (2003 Pan-Am champion) and Jason Miller (Super Brawl & Extreme Challenge veteran).
Ryron & Rener Gracie decided to wear their gi's in the tournament, potentially giving their opponents a huge advantage.
This 2-disc set contains over 4 hours of content, 28 fights, multiple angles, professional quality editing, pre and post fight interviews with fighters and spectators, and special featurettes.
