    A Conversation with Henry Akins

    Fri, 2010-02-05 08:50 — Gumby

Henry Akins is the third American to be promoted to black belt under Rickson Gracie, and has actually served as the main instructor for Rickson’s headquarters in Los Angeles. It’s not likely that anyone save Rickson’s sons have had as much of a chance to work with the man over the last decade than Henry.

"It's expensive, but I tell you it's the best cut gi I have ever worn in over a decade of doing jiujitsu. The pants don't sag like a bag of chips and the top is cut for athletic builds. The fit is perfect."

Chance Wanlass vs Alexandre "Café" Dantas

I won on points... barely. Probably my hairiest and most fun match. Even at blue belt Cafe had the best game I ever competed against.
