About Me:

My name is Manoj Mathew. I'm 25 years old and a recent recipient of a blue belt under Tony Tipton and Albert Hughes. Our school, Genesis Jiu Jitsu, is located in River Oaks right outside of Fort Worth, Tx.  Genesis is only a year old, but has grown a lot within that year, and has played host for seminars under: Royce Gracie, Antonio "Neto" Braga, Roberto "Cyborg" Abreyu, Vinicius "Draculino" Magalhães.  I only listed these great players to show the initiative our coaches have taken to make us a better school and team. I've visited and or trained at several schools within the DFW metroplex and truly believe that Genesis is a forerunner in the progressive Jiu Jitsu movement. As the game evolves so do we. As for myself, about two years ago I finished school and started a 9-5 to become an out of shape 235 lbs, thats on a 5'8" frame, pretty fat huh? Luckily I found Jiu Jitsu and a year later Genesis opened. At first I was just happy with being healthier and losing weight, but after awhile I wanted to compete. After a couple of unsuccessfull tournaments where I ended up in 4th, I won 1st in the mens No Gi 150-170 at the Fight to Win TX BJJ Championships. I can say with full confidence that I'm completely hooked.
