At the age of four, I started wrestling competitively, and stayed active in it for the next 16 years. I competed in tournaments all over the Midwest and placed as high as 3rd in a few state and regional competitions. During my many years in wrestling, I was able to meet and train with some of the best wrestlers and coaches in the country. Very early on I knew I wanted to coach and instruct someday.
During my senior year of high school, I started training in Submission Grappling. Upon finishing high school I began training in various forms of combat sports including Sambo, Judo, and submission grappling. For a short time I also trained with the US Greco-Roman wrestling team at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs. Over time I started to really focus most of my time on grappling. I loved learning how technique was much more effective than power and explosiveness. For the next two years, I trained every chance he could; however, during that time life happened and I had to quit training to focus on my family.
Nine years later, I made the decision to start training again after I moved to South Carolina. Over the last 6 and half years, I have dedicated thousands of hours to training, learning, competing, and eventually teaching Jiu-Jitsu and grappling.
On December of 2011, I was awarded my Brown belt by Joshua Miller. Mr. Miller is a 1st degree Black belt and considered to be one of the best BJJ instructors in Georgia and South Carolina.
