Butt-scooting
From OTMWiki
When a fighter sits down and invites his opponent to come into his guard. If the fighter still standing does not decide to engage with the seated fighter, the seated fighter may chase their opponent around still in the same seated position, hence the term "butt-scooting".
The strategy of the fighter doing the butt-scooting may involve wanting to engange in the guard right away, or wanting to avoid playing a takedown game.
Butt-scooting is most frequently seen in submission grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu matches. The effectiveness of the butt-scooting technqiue is highly questionable within mixed martial arts however, particularly when soccer kicks are allowed.
