Fabricio Werdum is a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter. He is Mirko Filipović's coach in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Werdum has a professional MMA record of 8-1-1 as of May 7, 2006. Although he lost to Sergei Kharitonov in 2005, he recently advanced to the second stage of PRIDE Fighting Championships' Absolute Grand Prix, with an impressive submission victory over Dutch fighter Alistair Overeem.
Werdum is famous for having taken up Jiu-Jitsu after he embarrasingly got into a fight with his ex-girlfriends's new boyfriend, and fell victim to a triangle choke.
