Mark "The Hammer" Coleman (born December 20, 1964) is an American mixed martial arts competitor. He is also famous for his Amateur wrestling career. He currently fights in PRIDE Mixed Martial Arts events as well as events with the Professional Wrestling promotion HUSTLE. He is also the founder of the Hammer House team.

Biography

Mark Coleman was born in Fremont,Ohio, USA in 1964. He is featured in the 2002 HBO documentary "The Smashing Machine - The Life and Times of Extreme Fighter Mark Kerr". Coleman is infamous for a confrontation between him, his cornerman Phil Baroni, and members of Chute Boxe that transpired at PRIDE 31 after his TKO victory over Chute Boxe member Mauricio Rua. Currently, Mark Coleman is one of the new coaches in the International Fight League, helming the an as of yet unnamed team.[1] His team is first scheduled to compete in the next 8-team tournament in the IFL, which is slated to begin in September 2006.

Note: With Coleman's two wins in the quarter- and semi-final rounds of UFC 11, he advanced to the final where he was declared the champion by default as the alternate who was inserted into the final had suffered an injury in winning his alternate bout and could not compete.
