Celso Venícius, also known as 'Celsinho' (Portuguese for Little Celso), is a five-time world-champion, two-time in the Black Belt category, in 2005 and 2006.
He began training still in his teens, after completing 14 years of age, in the legendary Roberto 'Gordo' Corrêa de Lima's academy, in Barra da Tijuca, Brazil. From a young age Celso showed a great talent for Jiu-Jitsu, earning his Blue Belt still at fourteen and his Purple Belt at sixteen, after winning the World Championship (in Portuguese Mundial) twice, along with several other championships. He also has competed in Submission fights and trained in Gracie Barra Combat Team , Gracie Barra's Vale-tudo division , along-side several fighters, such as Márcio 'Pe de Pano' Cruz and Renato Sobral, both UFC fighters.
Celso Venicius is known for his ability with the half-guard, created by Master Gordo, his powerful dominating positions while fighting on top (passing guard and cross-mounting) and his good natured humor.
Lately he has established his own academy, "Gordo Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu - RECREIO" in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Brazil, under his Master Gordo's tutelage.
